Purple Smoothie Bowl Ingredients
This recipe only requires 6 ingredients to make this extravagant smoothie bowl.
- Organic Frozen Banana: A frozen banana adds more sweetness and creaminess to this smoothie bowl!
- Organic Frozen Mangos: Mangos are sweet, juicy, and oh so delicious! There’s a reason this is my all time favorite fruit. Mango is rich in antioxidants and provides a great source of vitamin A and vitamin C.
- Organic Frozen Blueberries: There are several health benefits of blueberries, including the fact that they are fiber-packed, rich in antioxidants, and loaded with vitamins.
- Organic Frozen Strawberries or Raspberries: Choose strawberries or raspberries for this mixed berry smoothie. When paired with blueberries, the smoothie will take on a beautiful purple-pink color! Both strawberries and raspberries provide antioxidants and vitamin C. You can’t go wrong with each option, but I do prefer raspberries.
- Organic Blue Spirulina: Spirulina is high in iron, copper, several B vitamins, and powerful antioxidants.
- Organic Unsweetened Non-dairy milk: You only need a little liquid to blend, since it’s a smoothie bowl. I used organic full-fat coconut milk, but you can use any non-dairy milk that you enjoy.

Tips for Making the Perfect Smoothie Bowl
To make the perfect smoothie bowl, make sure to follow these recommendations!
- Be sure to use a frozen fruit, to achieve a thick consistency.
- The general rule is to start with a little liquid as possible, and add more only as needed. You can always add more, but once you add too much, you can’t go back! Pausing in between blending to scrape down sides helps as well.
- Use a high-speed blender, with a tamper, to ensure that your smoothie bowl achieves a thick and creamy texture.
- Place your serving bowl in the freezer before you begin preparing this recipe and remove it when smoothie is ready. This will ensure that your smoothie bowl stays cold as you enjoy it.

Fresh versus Frozen Ingredients
The key to making smoothie bowls is using frozen ingredients. By adding frozen ingredients to your smoothie, you will achieve a thicker result, so that you can add toppings, without them sinking. I usually start with a little non-dairy milk and add more, if needed, until I reach the desired thickness.
