If you’re interested in whether vegan food is actually healthy, this is the post that you need to read. In it, you will learn the truth & by the end you will have some healthy vegan recipes!

Is Vegan Food Healthy? Great question!
I have been consuming a healthy plant-based “diet” for almost three years now & from the start of my journey, I’ve always known that vegan food is not always healthier.
This post is going to be short, sweet, & to the point, because I’m a bottom line type of person.
By no means am I saying that organic whole foods, such as fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, beans, etc., are unhealthy. In fact, quite the opposite. As a healthy plant-based consumer, that’s what I nourish my body with.
The Vegan Truth
Now, onto the foods that are quote on quote “vegan,” that are not good for you.
Sorry to break it to you, but vegan cookies aren’t necessarily any better for your health than regular cookies.
Just like other processed foods on the grocery shelf today, processed vegan foods are still loaded with saturated fat (palm oil, canola oil, vegetable oil, etc).
So stay clear of any ingredients that you cannot pronounce, let alone know what they are.

Final Thoughts
So instead of reaching for the Oreos, stick to whole, nutritious foods that just happen to be vegan.
Such as, organic whole foods, like fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, beans, etc
Having a vegan treat once in a while is okay, but don’t justify them as “healthy” simply because they’re vegan.
