What if I told you that you could eat chocolate fudge for breakfast?
Yes, you could actually eat chocolate fudge for breakfast, but in this fudge I’m talking more specifically about chocolate fudge overnight oats. As in, oatmeal that you can prepare in advance!
Ingredients
- Organic Gluten-Free Rolled Oats: Rolled oats, also known as old fashioned oats, are the best kind of oats to use for overnight oats, because they absorb the liquid the best. However, if you only have quick oats on hand, you can use them too!
- Organic Medjool Dates: Adding dates to the recipe transpires the most amazing texture to achieve the thickness of fudge. Also, be sure to make sure that your dates are pitted.
- Organic Cacao Powder: To make the oats chocolatey! To be clear, cacao powder is different from regular dutch cocoa powder. Cacao powder is pure, raw cacao versus processed. Plus, cacao is rich in magnesium.
- Organic Unsweetened Non-Dairy Milk: Any non-dairy milk will work to mix the oats up.
- Organic Ground Flax Seeds: Loaded with nutrients, high in omega-3 fats, rich in dietary fiber, and you can’t even taste them. They are completely optional, so no problem if you don’t have them…yet!

How to Make Overnight Oats
Overnight oats are probably the easiest breakfast to make, but this recipe has an extra step, that probably takes 2 minutes, but it’s totally worth it.
- In a high-speed blender, combine the non-dairy milk, dates, cacao powder, and optional ground flax seeds. Blend on high until smooth.
- Mix the oats and chocolate milk together in a jar or container and cover.
- Place in the fridge overnight and the oats will be ready to eat in the morning!

Overnight oats are a wonderful breakfast option! They’re loaded with fiber and give you lasting energy throughout the morning. The addition of healthy fats, carbs, & protein in this recipe also provide some extra nutrients and essential minerals for you.
How Long Do Overnight Oats Last?
Typically, overnight oats last for 4 – 5 days in the fridge, however they’re best to be enjoyed within a couple of days, since the oats will become softer in texture.

However you want! Overnight oats are typically enjoyed cold. However, if you’re not a fan of cold breakfasts, then just pop them into the microwave or add them to the stove to heat them up, after they soak overnight.

Overnight Oats Toppings
The options are limitless when it comes to topping your overnight oats recipe. I personally topped mine with dairy-free dark chocolate chips and shredded coconut, but you can top your chocolate fudge with whatever suits you!
- Fresh Organic Berries: blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, cherries, etc.
- Organic Banana Slices

Whatever toppings you select, be sure to add them the morning of versus when prepared at night, to make sure that your toppings don’t get soggy, because no one likes soggy toppings!
