Birthday Cake Smoothie Bowl Ingredients
This birthday cake smoothie is creamy and perfectly sweet, so it actually tastes like you’re indulging into a bowl of cake batter. Here are the ingredients you’ll need:
- Organic Frozen Banana: A frozen banana adds more sweetness and creaminess to this smoothie bowl!
- Organic Frozen Cauliflower: I know it sounds crazy, but adding frozen cauliflower is where the thick texture comes from. Don’t worry, you can’t taste it. I recommend using store bought frozen cauliflower, or even frozen cauliflower rice, because it blends up nicely.
- Organic Medjool Dates: Adding dates to the recipe transpires the most amazing texture to achieve the tastes of caramel. Also, be sure to make sure that your dates are pitted.
- Organic Cashew Butter: Cashew butter is key in a birthday cake smoothie. Of course you can sub for other nut butters and even seed butters, but the cashew butter helps with the birthday cake taste!
- OrganicAlmond Extract: Almond extract almost tastes like a sugar cookie and is definitely essential for this smoothie bowl!
- Organic Unsweetened Non-dairy Milk: You only need a little liquid to blend, since it’s a smoothie bowl. I used organic full-fat unsweetened coconut milk, but you can use any non-dairy milk that you enjoy.
- Ground Flax Seeds: Ground flax seeds are loaded with nutrients, high in omega-3 fats, rich in dietary fiber, and you can’t even taste them. They are completely optional, so no problem if you don’t have them…yet!

Fresh versus Frozen Ingredients
The key to making smoothie bowls is using frozen ingredients. By adding frozen banana & frozen cauliflower to your smoothie, you will achieve a thicker result, so that you can add toppings, without them sinking. I usually start with a little non-dairy milk and add more, if needed, until I reach the desired thickness.
