Grand rising & it’s time to get out in the sun to optimize your health! In this AM Sunshine post, you’re going to learn the benefits & the how to’s of getting natural sunlight first thing upon waking up!

Every rise I make it a priority to get some natural sunlight. Not by starring outside my window, but by physically being outside. Even if it’s freezing, raining, or whatever the Oklahoma weather is forecasting, I’m still make it a priority to go outside.
So much of our society today is trapped inside working at a desk & it’s doing more harm than good to our physical health.
I have to say, going outside & sun gazing has definitely improved my life. Oh and sun gazing is just gazing at the sun – looking at the sun in the eye during sunrise to soak in the benefits of the sun!
In this post I’m going to share with you the benefits & the how to’s to AM Sunshine for optimal health, so que “I’m Going to Soak Up the Sun” & let’s get to it.
Benefits of AM Sunshine
Now the list could go on & on, but I’m just going to share with just a few:
- Increased energy levels
- Supplied Vitamin D
- Improved immune system
- Reduced stress
- Boost production of melatonin & serotonin
- Supplied nutrients to brain
Like I mentioned, those are just some of the benefits, but the biggest benefit that I have experienced is that it definitely helps my sleep. When I don’t get my AM Sunshine, it’s a lot more challenging for me to fall & stay asleep.
How to Achieve AM Sunshine Properly for Optimal Health
Simply, stand outside for 10 minutes or more after rising, without any sunglasses (contacts are okay). I personally go for a 10 minute walk outside!
If it’s a cloudy day, the benefits still are there, although the time outside will be increased to at least 15 minutes.
This should go without saying, but if it hurts your eyes STOP! You don’t want your eyes to get irritated or damaged.
Final Thoughts
Since AM Sunshine helps regulate our circadian clock, which is the body’s mechanism for prediction of when to wake up & go to sleep, it also controls other biological processes like hunger and body temperature. To put simply, just by going outside first thing on the rise, can help optimize your health!
Okay, so what are you waiting for?! Get you some sun into your eyes first thing upon waking to receive the long term benefits.
Let me know in the comments if you practice AM Sunshine!
Xoxo.
Christin.
